The University of Wisconsin football team has had its share of ups and downs in the Rose Bowl.

Result: Washington 44, UW 8
Recap: The Badgers’ strong defense under coach Milt Bruhn (above) finally failed them after the offense turned it over four times, all on fumbles.

UW end Pat Richter (88) picks up a first down on a pass from Ron Vander Kelen in the third quarter of the 1963 Rose Bowl.
Result: USC 42, UW 37
Recap: After falling behind 42-14 in the second half, UW mounted one of the best comeback efforts in Rose Bowl history.
Jan. 1, 1994
Brent Moss rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Badgers to a 21-16 win over UCLA in the 1994 Rose Bowl.
Result: UW 21, UCLA 16
Recap: The Badgers finally broke through in their fourth chance at a Rose Bowl.
Jan. 1, 1999
Ron Dayne scored four touchdowns and ran for 246 yards, just one yard short of the Rose Bowl record, in a victory over UCLA in the 1999 Rose Bowl.
Result: UW 38, UCLA 31
Recap: After finishing in a three-way tie for the Big Ten title, the Badgers were heavy underdogs going into the 1999 Rose Bowl. But a dominant performance from Ron Dayne and the UW offensive line was enough to power UW to a win.

Badgers quarterback Brooks Bollinger escapes pressure from Stanford's Austin Lee in the 2000 Rose Bowl. Bollinger ran for a 1-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to clinch the Badgers' 17-9 win.
Result: UW 17, Stanford 9
Recap: UW made history by becoming the first Big Ten team to win back-to-back Rose Bowls after it defeated the Cardinal.
