Oregon at Washington odds, preview and prediction: (Washington -3 points)
Quarterback Bo Nix, an Auburn transfer, is having an outstanding season for the Oregon Ducks. He has completed 80.4% of his passes for 1,459 yards (9.0 yards per attempt). He has 15 touchdowns and one interception.
Michael Penix Jr., an Indiana transfer, also is having a terrific season. Penix has completed 74.7% of his passes for 1,999 yards, 16 touchdowns and two interceptions. Both quarterbacks are smart with the football and use their legs to avoid defensive pressure.
The better quarterback on Saturday likely will lead his team to a victory.
The Over-Under total is 67, an abnormally high amount. But Oregon averages 51.6 points per game and Washington averages 46 points. Still, under may be the better play.
Oregon has won 15 of 18 games against Washington since 2004. Washington won at Oregon last year, 37-34.
Both teams are coming off bye weeks and should be rested and prepared. Oregon is 5-0 against the spread; Washington is 3-1-1.
Footballs will fill the air at Husky Stadium in Seattle. We lean toward Washington to win and cover based on Penix and his superior receivers.
