The U.S. Women's National Team will attempt to secure its fifth Olympic gold medal on Saturday (11 a.m. ET) when it takes on Brazil in a matchup that should prove to be electric.

Led by a dynamic trio of forwards in Sophia Smith, Mallory Swanson and Trinity Rodman, the U.S. has scored 11 goals in the tournament, nine of which have come from those three.Â

Now, they will meet Brazilian legend Marta, who will receive her final cap for the Seleção, electing to end her international career at the Olympics. Marta was suspended for the last two matches due to a red card that she picked up in an earlier loss to Spain.
The Brazilian side, buoyed by three goals and an own goal from Spain’s Irene Paredes, were able to upset top-seeded Spain in the semifinals, and look to carry that momentum into the gold medal match. With Marta back in the fold, they will have an added layer to their vaunted attack.Â
While Brazil is an extremely talented side, you have to roll with the ladies from the States for the final. Smith, Swanson and Rodman have flummoxed opposing defenses since the tournament kicked off, each netting three goals en route to the gold medal match.
These two squads last met in the 2024 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final, where the USWNT brought home the silverware courtesy of a first-half header from Lindsay Horan. The USWNT is 32-5-3 all-time against Brazil, so they have history on their side as well.Â

She has put 23 shots on frame through the tournament, a stat that shows her numbers could be even higher.
