The NFL postseason continues Saturday with the start of the Divisional Round, as the upstart Texans take on the Ravens and the equally surprising Packers visit the 49ers.
- No. 4 Houston Texans at No. 1 Baltimore Ravens (-9.5), 4:30 p.m. ET - ESPN/ABC
- No. 7 Green Bay Packers at No. 1 San Francisco 49ers (-9.5), 8:15 p.m. ET - FOX
2024 NFL Divisional Round best bets: Texans vs. Ravens odds, preview and predictions for Saturday
Houston’s domination of Cleveland in the Wild Card round gave DeMeco Ryan’s club an excellent foundation to begin the postseason. The assignment gets exponentially tougher this Saturday against a Ravens team that went 6-3 straight up at home and 5-4 ATS in that split with a net ATS +/- of an NFL-best +9.3 points.
Baltimore naturally has the rest advantage after getting last week off, and the Ravens appear increasingly likely to welcome back All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews (leg/ankle) to the fold.
Andrews practiced in limited fashion a couple of times after a designation to return from IR, before getting in a full session Wednesday.
The Texans were vulnerable to tight ends all season, and the Ravens can naturally force plenty of defensive attention away from Andrews with the likes of Zay Flowers, Odell Beckham, Justice Hill and the unique run/passing threat Lamar Jackson poses.
This could be the end of the line for the Texans’ inspiring 2023 story arriving at M&T Bank Stadium, especially with Houston’s receiving corps significantly short-handed behind Nico Collins.
A typically good fight from the Texans for three quarters will eventually give way to the Ravens doing enough to pull away for a cover.
Texans vs. Ravens pick: Ravens -9.5 (-113 or better)

2024 NFL Divisional Round picks: Packers vs. 49ers odds, preview and predictions for Saturday
The Packers (+9.5) are essentially the NFC playoff version of the Texans, an upstart squad that is playing with proverbial house money after a surprise drubbing of the typically home-dominant Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in the Wild Card round.
Green Bay’s Jordan Love might be the hottest quarterback this side of C.J. Stroud in these playoffs (with Baker Mayfield also making a strong case). Although the challenge against a rested and aggressive 49ers defense will be stiff, Love’s brimming with confidence after slaying the dragon of the Cowboys defense on the road.
There’s always concern when a team’s full array of pass-catchers are either in their first or second year, but last week’s victory should be enough to soothe some first-time postseason jitters.
San Francisco did spring occasional leaks against wide receivers this season, and Aaron Jones, who looks refreshed after a season of relatively light usage and some absences, has proven capable of coming up big even in tough matchups.
While we envision a Niners victory, an alternate spread over 10 gives us confidence in the Packers doing just enough for a cover.
Packers vs. 49ers best bet: Packers alt spread +10.5 (-130 or better)
