2024 Masters long shot picks: Best Masters dark horse odds to consider
The predictable favorites sit atop the odds board for the 2024 Masters, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (+430), Rory McIlroy (+1100) and Jon Rahm (+1300). But our focus will be on some of the dark horses that provide a little more value further down the list.

2024 Masters long shot picks: Hideki Matsuyama (+2200 or better)
Hideki Matsuyama has the shortest odds of our Masters long shots, and there’s value to be had at his +2200 price. The Japanese standout not only won his first and only major there, but he’s played Augusta consistently well. Matsuyama has finished outside the top 20 just once in the last nine years, including three results of T7 or better.
On top of that, the 32-year-old has been playing great golf in 2024. He’s already notched a win at the Genesis Invitational and sits third in FedExCup points. Matsuyama is fresh off a T6 at the Players Championship and is currently T15 on tour in SG: Total.
2024 Masters sleeper picks: Cameron Smith (+3200 or better)
We don’t hear as much as we used to of Cameron Smith since his departure to LIV, but the Australian is still a threat to win on any course. Smith’s game suits Augusta National well, proven by four top-10 finishes in his last six attempts. Three of those were T5 or better.
The Brisbaine native leads LIV Golf in putting (1.49 average) and is third in birdies (4.92 average) in the breakaway league. The 30-year-old’s best finish at The Masters was T2 in 2020. He has one major on his resume, winning The British Open in 2022.
2024 Masters long shot pick: Corey Conners (+8000 or better)
Corey Conners will be itching to get back on the hallowed holes of Augusta after missing the cut last year. The Canadian had put up a tidy streak of top-10 finishes (T6, T8, T10) in the previous three seasons, making these +8000 odds seem favorable to bettors.
The 32-year-old might be heating up at the right time, coming off a season-best T13 at the Players Championship and he has now put together consecutive top-20 finishes. Conners is 6th in SG: Approach to Green, which is a prerequisite for Masters success. Six of the last eight winners ranked 5th or better in the field in SG: Approach during the tournament.
Masters long shot bonus: Tiger Woods (+12000 or better)
It’s hard to fathom Tiger Woods Masters odds at +12000, but here we are. The 48-year-old’s injuries and lack of rounds have been well-documented over the past few years, and the books have placed the five-time Augusta winner near the bottom of the board.
Woods elated the golf world with a win in 2019 at the age of 43 and would become the oldest golfer in history to win The Masters if he did it this year at 48 (Jack Nicklaus, 46). Still, these outrageous odds are worth a sprinkle to anyone’s betting card.
