2024 AFC Championship Game odds: Chiefs vs. Ravens moneyline, spread, total and pick
Chiefs vs. Ravens in the AFC Championship Game is the best matchup (objective) football fans could envision. The Ravens may be the superior team on paper, but it’s difficult to bet against Patrick Mahomes and Co. with a trip to Super Bowl 58 on the line.
The Chiefs didn’t dominate the regular season to the degree we’ve come to expect, requiring them to take a more difficult route to the Super Bowl, which now travels through Baltimore.
They’re getting 3.5 points in another supremely challenging road tilt. It’s the largest underdog spread attached to them in several seasons, especially if you restrict the sample to “meaningful” games, i.e. when Patrick Mahomes starts and the Chiefs’ playoff seeding isn’t locked in.
The Ravens earned the AFC’s No. 1 seed and currently hold the second shortest odds to win the Super Bowl behind the San Francisco 49ers. But it’s the Chiefs with extensive postseason and Super Bowl success.
We respect the hell out of what Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are doing right now – ignoring Week 18, the Ravens have won seven straight and covered six over that span.
But a wise man once said, “If you come at the king, you best not miss.” And the Chiefs, in this context, are wearing the crown.
By taking the points with the Chiefs, bettors can cover themselves to a degree. Even if the Ravens do ultimately emerge triumphant, there’s a reasonable chance of them doing so by a small margin.

2024 AFC Championship Game player props: Favorite prop bets for Chiefs vs. Ravens
Chiefs vs. Ravens player props: Lamar Jackson Anytime TD (+110 or better)
Lamar Jackson is 2-0 in the playoffs when he finds paydirt in the postseason. He’s 0-3 when he doesn’t.
This isn’t to suggest the Ravens’ fate rests on Jackson running in a score, but demonstrates – across a small sample – the impact he delivers with his legs. Jackson can – and most likely will – inflict damage with his arm as well.
This isn’t the time for the Ravens to play short-handed, so to speak. Jackson’s running ability stresses and punishes defenses, and it’s reasonable to anticipate Jackson crossing the plane for 6 points on at least one occasion.
AFC Championship Game player props: Patrick Mahomes Under 37.5 pass attempts (-136 or better)
Mahomes is no stranger to passing his way to Chiefs victories – he eclipsed 37.5 pass attempts in nine of 16 career postseason starts.
The Chiefs, however, are also not afraid to deploy a more balanced attack, like last week for example, when they totaled 24 rushes to 23 pass attempts. If you expect the Ravens to win this game, you may want to give some pause before wagering this prop.
However, in a projected low-scoring contest featuring the league’s stingiest pass defense (4.7 net yards per attempt), it won’t be a surprise to see the Chiefs lean on their ground game to a degree that keeps Mahomes Under here.
Chiefs vs. Ravens same-game parlay: Combine Chiefs spread, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Travis Kelce for long-shot AFC Championship SGP (+565 or better)
- Chiefs +3.5
- Lamar Jackson props: Anytime TD scorer
- Patrick Mahomes props: 1+ TD pass
- Travis Kelce props: 50+ receiving yards
We’re combining two of the previously discussed picks – Chiefs +3.5 and Lamar Jackson Anytime TD – with a pair of alternate lines.
Sportsbooks offer bettors flexibility by providing alternate lines and odds to use in same-game parlays. We’re focused on Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce alternate stat lines.
We discussed Mahomes totaling Under 37.5 pass attempts, so we’re not anticipating offensive fireworks. We’re still talking about Mahomes in this spot though, and he has only been kept out of the end zone (via air) in two of 16 postseason contests.
As stout as the Ravens are defensively, sometimes good offense just beats good defense. And Mahomes is the caliber of quarterback who we’re willing to bet on finding the paint against even the best defensive units.
A similar sentiment applies to Kelce in spite of the Ravens’ quality track record against tight ends. We’re not pushing the pace with Kelce – 50 yards is certainly conservative for a player of Kelce’s stature.
But that’s the beauty of using alternate lines. He breached the 50-yard plateau in 16 of 20 postseason contests, and he will continue operating as the Chiefs top pass-catcher on Sunday.
