As we look toward the 2023 NFL season, we're focusing on the NFC East, which hasn’t had a repeat champion in almost 20 years.
Below are 2023 NFC East odds and our best bets for NFL futures ahead of kickoff in September.
2023 NFC East odds: Best Bets including Cowboys odds to win division
The Eagles won the division and the conference last season, so there’s no surprise that they’re the favorites to win the NFC East again. But are they the team that’ll end the streak of different division title winners?
Here are the NFC East odds for the 2023 division title:
Philadelphia Eagles NFC East odds (-105 or better)
The Eagles fell short of a Super Bowl title last season and then lost a number of key pieces in free agency.
On the plus side, they had another monster draft night and retooled for the upcoming season.
With the addition of D’Andre Swift via trade, and drafting Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith out of Georgia, this Philadelphia team looks ready to make another run.
That starts with becoming the first team to repeat as division champ since they did it four years in a row from 2001-04.
Dallas Cowboys NFC East odds (+175 or better)
Let's not bury the lede, here. Dallas is our pick to win the division in 2023 after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs for a second year in a row.
This time around, they’ll be without Ezekiel Elliot (who they cut) in the backfield. Tony Pollard was franchise tagged, but won’t be ready for a while after fracturing his fibula in that loss to the 49ers.
Add Brandin Cooks and Stephon Gilmore to the 2023 mix, and the Cowboys have a legitimate shot at dethroning Philly.
It should be a tight battle that we like Dallas to get the edge on this time around.
New York Giants NFC East odds (+700 or better)
We’ve got a big jump up in odds here between the Giants and Cowboys despite the two sides seeing their seasons end in similar fashion.
New York lost to Philadelphia in the divisional round of the playoffs last year, but overall had a surprisingly successful season that ended in Brian Daboll winning coach of the year.
After signing Daniel Jones to a long-term contract, tagging Saquon Barkley and having arguably one of the best drafts in the league, could the Giants win their first division title since 2011?
Washington Commanders NFC East odds (+1000 or better)
Washington had a roller coaster of a season and still nearly made the playoffs last year.
Losses this offseason include both Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke, who were the top two pass throwers for the Commanders last season.
But the return of Chase Young to the front four on defense should help bolster an already strong group.
Although it’s a long shot, this team has shocked us before in recent years with division titles.
We don't think they do it again, but those odds are pretty attractive for a division that is notoriously close.
2023 NFC East picks: Win total predictions and more NFL futures
In addition to division title winners, there are tons of other NFL futures to bet on before the season starts, including Super Bowl and conference winners to win totals and player props.
Philadelphia Eagles win total picks: Under 11.5 wins (-110 or better)
The Eagles won 14 games in 2022, tied for the best mark in the league with the Chiefs.
Repeating that will be tough, but they’re still expected to be among the top of the league again this season with their over/under set at 11.5 – tied for the highest with Kansas City and Cincinnati.
A slate that includes three weeks straight of Kansas City, Buffalo and San Francisco sandwiched between two games with Dallas could prove to be the difference between this over/under.
We like the Eagles to fall just under that this season – they may start off hot, but if they fall to either the Jets or Dolphins (or both), then that five-game stretch mentioned above could really rock them.
Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl odds (+1400 or better)
The Cowboys have tried and tried again to get back to contending like they once did back in the early-mid 90s, but they’ve yet to even return to the big game since then.
With Dak Prescott their quarterback of the present and future, sky’s the limits for this team.
He’s got reliable options to throw to in Ceedee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup, and the defense is sound with Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs.
If the Cowboys can win the division like we think they will, there’s a good chance that they could have the best record in the NFC, will host each playoff game and have the best shot of reaching the Super Bowl.
2023 NFC East best bets: New York Giants' Saquon Barkley NFL rushing leader (+1400 or better)
Barkley had the most rushing yards of his career last season, running for 1,312 yards in 2022 – his best mark since his rookie season and the fourth best in the league last year.
However, the Giants did not sign him to a long-term contract and instead put him on the franchise tag – something he’s not too pleased with.
If he intends to play on it this year, this can turn into a “prove it” season for Barkley.
The Giants passing game still isn’t sharp considering the lack of receiving talent, so the carries should still be there for Barkley – if he can perform.
A true monster season could be on the horizon for the former No. 2 overall pick.
2023 NFC East picks: Washington's Terry McLaurin over 875.5 receiving yards (-110 or better)
McLaurin hasn’t recorded less than 1,000+ receiving yards in a season since his rookie year, but this over/under isn’t a reflection of him.
The Commanders appear to be going with Sam Howell as their starting quarterback in Week 1. Howell played just one game in his rookie season, so it’s undetermined if he’ll be their guy through the season.
However, McLaurin will continue being the top guy for whichever quarterback throws to him this season.
To hit this over, he doesn’t even need to cross 900 yards, let alone 1,000, so grab this number while you can.
2023 NFC East predictions
- Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin over 875.5 receiving yards (-110 or better)
- New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley to lead NFL in rushing (+1400 or better)
- Philadelphia Eagles Under 11.5 wins (-110 or better)
- Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl odds (+1400 or better)
