Johnny Davis was picked 10th overall to the Washington Wizards. Here's what fans, analysts and celebrities are saying about the former Badgers star.

The 20-year-old Davis, a La Crosse native, was Big Ten Player of the Year and a consensus All-American after improving over his freshman and sophomore seasons. His sights were set on the NBA from a young age, and now follows in the footsteps of his father, Mark.

Johnny to be 'living out his dream'

Happy he got picked in the top 10.. Not as happy with him going to the Wizards.. Best of luck Johnny living out your dream! 👍👍😃💪🏻💪🏻

A Badger fan's wishful thinking?

Should have stayed in school!

— TDGB (@TDGB13) June 24, 2022

Who? Probably a lot of Badgers fans

Happy for him, but who watches Washington Wizards basketball?...

— Jason (@JasonGeldon) June 24, 2022

Johnny joins Badgers royalty

Johnny Davis is @BadgerMBB's third top-10 pick in the common draft era

Valid point, but it's all relative

It’s expensive to live there

Celebrities upset Davis didn't fall to Knicks?

Stephen A was mad the Wizards picked Johnny Davis right in front of the Knicks that’s how you know it’s a good pick. pic.twitter.com/oTiINsCWoJ

— Zac (@DCzWall) June 24, 2022

Avoiding New York dysfunction?

Better than the Knicks

— Jorgie19 (@EricJorgenson2) June 24, 2022

Remember the Alamo?

Would have really like to see him go at 9 to the Spurs. That would’ve been a great situation for him. Still happy for him!

— Jordan Love Bookmarks (@BookmarkerLove) June 24, 2022

Spurs and Badgers fan has his thoughts

Spurs need big men. Great organization but loaded with guards and no big men. Doesn’t fit their need but sadly I’m a badger in San Antonio and wanted the unlikely to happen. I am not a fan of our pick at 9

— Nick Askey (@thekickaskey) June 24, 2022

A worthwhile choice

Sad to see him go but as a top ten pick, he definitely made the right choice.

— Dan Tombasco (@Tombasco) June 24, 2022

An early NBA comparison for the former Badger

"The comparison for Johnny Davis right now ... think Josh Hart."

His intangibles can't be measured, but @JonRothstein says Davis needs to become a better shooter to be effective at the next level ✍️ pic.twitter.com/ZQu7AIK0If

— FanDuel (@FanDuel) June 24, 2022

Big night for the Big Ten

Jaden Ivey, Keegan Murray and Johnny Davis — all scoring wings or guards — now carry the banner for a Big Ten that has a rep for not being ideal for such players.

— Brian Neubert — NIL truther and COVID year troll (@brianneubert) June 24, 2022

A Wizards reporter's thoughts

Johnny Davis' standout skill is his feel for the game with the ball in his hands. Really good in the halfcourt, knows how to get defenders off balance and create shots. Also a high motor defender. Shot 30% from 3PT last year, so that will be an area for growth.

— Chase Hughes (@ChaseHughesNBCS) June 24, 2022

More Big Ten love from a Big Ten great

The Big Ten had some dudes this year. Three guys drafted in the top 10…more coming in the first round
