LONDON — King Charles III plans to take a shortcut and smoother ride to Westminster Abbey for his coronation, trimming the procession route his mother took in 1953 as he aims for a more modest event that will include some modern touches, Buckingham Palace said.

Buckingham Palace has unveiled a new emoji to mark the Coronation of King Charles III. The colourful cartoon motif depicts the 17th century jewelled solid gold St Edward’s Crown with purple velvet cap — the regalia that will be used to crown the King on May 6.
