Recent data shows violent crime rates are going down throughout Wisconsin and across the nation, but law enforcement is dealing with other day-to-day challenges, keeping crime and public safety a top of mind issue in the upcoming election. WisconsinEye’s Newsmakers is joined by two current police chiefs representing different regions of our state - Chief Kelly Bakken of Altoona in Eau Claire County and Chief Danny Thompson from the city of Waukesha. They are both leaders in the WI Chiefs of Police Association. Chiefs Bakken and Thompson address election worker safety.
