Photos: City tears down Willy Street encampment in Madison
Early Tuesday morning, Aug. 4, 2026, law enforcement officers and street department employees dismantled an encampment at the intersection of Williamson and Baldwin streets. The encampment, which included a large fist-shaped monument, was set up in response to the July 22 killing of Corey Ruiz at that intersection by an officer with the Madison Police Department.
