Photos: Intertribal ceremony honors white buffalo calf born in Yellowstone
The white buffalo calf recently born in Yellowstone National Park was honored by numerous Native American tribes on June 26 at an intertribal ceremony held outside West Yellowstone.
The calf was named Wakan Gli, by Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and Bundle. It translates to "the sacred has come home" also Sacred Return or Comes Holy.
