Students from UW-Madison filled Library Mall to protest ICE activity across the country and show solidarity with Minneapolis residents on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 in Madison, Wis. The protest, organized by Students for a Democratic Society Madison, intended to "show the campus, the city, the state, and the Trump administration the students will not allow this to continue unobstructed," according to the organization's social media.Â
