The U.S. Championship Cheese Contest won't be held until 2023 while the World Championship Cheese Contest will revert back to 2022 after being scheduled for 2021 to align with the CheeseExpo.
The development on the city's northeast side would create 100 production jobs and move the company's headquarters from Fitchburg.
Held every two years at Monona Terrace, the event will likely draw over 3,500 entries from around the world but COVID-19 concerns will tamp down the pomp and pageantry.Â
Despite no Wisconsin cheeses finishing in the final top three, state producers dominated the competition, earning 45 gold medals out of 132 categories.
