Hilldale has plans to expand to the south with a dramatic project that could include apartments, a hotel, retail, restaurants and a plaza for ice skating and live entertainment.
The on-going transformation of Hilldale is taking more steps with new businesses but work has yet to begin on a major redevelopment just south of the existing shopping center.
Hilldale has announced that J.McLaughlin, a clothing store for men and women, will soon open next to the UNTUCKit store, just north of Macy's.
J.McLaughlin, a national clothing retailer, is scheduled to open soon at Hilldale.
When Bluemercury opens in Hilldale, it will become the first Wisconsin location for the nationwide retailer that sells cosmetics, skin care, makeup and perfume, along with hair, bath and body products.

Hilldale's buffet features "Thanksgiving standards and time-tested favorites," and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last seating is at 3:30 p.m. Adults are $24.95, kids ages 5 to 12 are $9.95, and children 4 and under are free. Reservations are recommended.
The restaurant is also serving a la carte turkey dinners from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $15.95 for adults and $8.95 for kids. A limited late-night menu will be available between 4 p.m. and midnight.
