History on holiday: A guide to Wisconsin's historic sites and museums
From the Destination Wisconsin: Plan your next trip in your own backyard series
Take a trip through Wisconsin’s past this summer. At Old World Wisconsin, learn about immigrants and settlers working hard to build new lives and our state. Savor the luxury of a Chicago brewer’s “summer cottage” on Lake Geneva at Black Point Estate. Or head back to school and experience what it was like to be a pupil in a one-room schoolhouse at Reed School in Neillsville.
The Wisconsin Historical Museum in Madison features exhibits on everything from Native American cultures to the state’s lively political history.
