Dane County law enforcement officers took a knee in solidarity with members of Madison’s black community at a Wednesday event after several days of peaceful protests and nighttime destruction set off by George Floyd’s death.

Lorien Carter, the aunt of Tony Robinson, a 19-year-old who was shot and killed by a Madison Police officer in 2015, spoke during a gathering of community leaders at the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County's Allied Family Center.
Clyde Mayberry, of Madison, is opposed to some of the initiatives spearheaded by Boys and Girls Club president and CEO Michael Johnson, which Johnson rolled out at a community event Wednesday.
Rep. Shelia Stubbs, D-Madison, was one of several speakers at an event sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County Wednesday. "We must end racism. Not just have listening sessions and not just have forums … but it is time we address the underlying issue of racism."
