The state’s high court heard arguments on an effort to block certain powers from legislative committees, such as banning therapists from using conversion therapy to try and change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. The lawsuit targets actions by the Legislature's Joint Committee for Review of Administrative Rules, which has also blocked building code standards and ethics rules for social workers issued by the Department of Safety and Professional Services.
