Area residents recently had an opportunity to learn about some local Civil War history.
Representatives from the Holy Communion Episcopal Church, 320 Broad St. in Lake Geneva, hosted a presentation on the First Wisconsin Infantry and the church's first priest, Father John McNamara, July 2, as part of their Summer Speakers' Series program.

There is no admission to attend the Holy Communion Episcopal Church's Summer Speakers' Series but donations are accepted with the funds going towards the church's restoration project
There is no admission to attend the Holy Communion Episcopal Church's Summer Speakers' Series presentations but donations will be accepted with the proceeds going towards the church's restoration projects. The church's goal is to raise about $155,750.Â
The project is set to include a preschool classroom; two seventh-and-eighth-grade classrooms; a science, technology, engineering and math laboratory; and an elevator. Â
