44 photos: A look back at deadly 2007 flooding in the La Crosse and Winona areas
Rainfall and flooding of historic proportions struck parts of the upper Mississippi River valley on Aug 18-19, 2007. Seven people were killed, and a 24-hour rainfall record was set for the state of Minnesota near Hokah, Minn., with 15.10 inches, while unofficial readings may have exceeded 17 inches, according to the National Weather Service office in La Crosse.
