ArtRoot’s Wall Poems of Racine No. 8 will be unveiled at 2 p.m. Nov. 16 on the Washington Avenue facing facade of the Pawstar RE building at 1236 13th St. The mural, which was designed by University of Wisconsin-Parkside student Sophia Lefeber and painted by Tawwater Sign Company, features an excerpt from UW-P student Monica Thomas’ poem “Rooftop.” Wall Poems of Racine celebrates local literary talent by pairing an excerpt from a poem written by a Racine poet with a design created by a student from an advanced graphic design community-based learning class at UW-P. Building owners who are interested in having a wall painted can visit www.artroot.org/contact. To learn more about the project visit artroot.org/wallpoems.
