RACINE COUNTY — Reports of child abuse, including sexual abuse, in Racine County are trending down this year, but that doesn’t mean that fewer instances of abuse have occurred. Officials believe it means that some cases just aren’t being reported and they think that the pandemic is a significant contributing factor.

Fifteen-year-old Martice Fuller had planned to shoot his former girlfriend Kaylie Juga when he went to her home last Thursday after school, according to prosecutors.
Fuller was charged Monday with first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree homicide and armed burglary for the killing of 15-year-old Kaylie Juga and the shooting of her mother, Stephanie Juga.

The Kenosha Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 5-year-old boy.
According to a release from the department, the 5-year-old was killed in a shooting that occurred around 1:43 p.m. today at a residence on the 2000 block of 60th Street.

A 20-year-old Paddock Lake man faces numerous charges for allegedly running a high-tech marijuana operation — with as many as 10 employees serving under him — out of his mother’s Bristol condominium.
Tyler Huffhines, 20, is expected to be formally charged with manufacturing THC, possession with intent to deliver THC, maintaining a drug trafficking place and identify theft.

When investigators served a search warrant on Courtney Huffhines’ real estate office in Union Grove last week, a detective called Sheriff David Beth from the scene.
“He said, ‘We hit the jackpot,’” Beth said. “In the backroom of (the real estate office), when the drug unit went into it, they found it was basically a lab similar to the one that was in the village of Bristol condo.”

A 44-year-old Kenosha man was charged Tuesday with the shooting death of Khaled Alchaar outside Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen in Pleasant Prairie in May.
According to the criminal complaint, Shawn Amelio Sr. told police he shot Alchaar after the younger man pulled a gun on Amelio’s 19-year-old daughter during a meeting for a drug sale.

On Labor Day weekend, Tyler Huffhines loaded a suitcase with $300,000 in cash and climbed aboard a plane to California.
What he did not know, as he posted a video of his first-class seats on Snapchat, was that investigators were already monitoring his social media.

Hunter Jones was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher for four minutes before he revealed that the toddler he was caring for was unconscious and not breathing.
“I have a toddler that I was babysitting and he was in a playpen,” Jones initially told the dispatcher on March 27, according to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday. “This child has some sort of mental issue. His mother, we babysit for her frequently, and he throws tantrums. He threw a tantrum. ... He jumped out of the playpen and hit his head and stuff like that. ... He has a history of this; we have messages, you know, like talking to her about it.”

A seven-hour standoff at 52nd Street and 24th Avenue in central city of Kenosha has ended as law enforcement personnel and equipment left the scene after 10 p.m.
No information was known on whether a man in a house there came out.

A 19-year-old man shot outside a Pleasant Prairie restaurant Monday is dead, and police are still searching for suspects.
Police identified the victim Tuesday afternoon as Khaled M. Alchaar from Pleasant Prairie.
