Messier Marathon Open House — 8-10 p.m., Yerkes Observatory, 373 W. Geneva St., Williams Bay, yerkesobservatory.org. Open exploration of Yerkes Observatory, with demos, hands-on activities and a scavenger hunt with prizes. Lakeside Laughs Comedy Night — Doors open 6:30 p.m., show 7 p.m., The Abbey Resort, 269 Fontana Blvd., Fontana, theabbeyresort.com. Brian Hicks is the headliner. The Traveling Wilburys Revue — 7 p.m., Belfry Music Theatre, 3601 Highway 67, Delavan, belfrymusictheatre.com. Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Roy Orbison were members of the Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup that never played live. This show pays tribute to the Wilburys. Tickets $72-88. Note: There is another performance scheduled Saturday, March 14, at 7 p.m.
Brothers Quinn — 9 p.m.-midnight, Lake Lawn Resort. The southeastern Wisconsin group blends bluegrass with Irish music. Tickets $25 per person, plus fees. Ticket price includes late night snacks and 20% off dinner at two resort restaurants. See link for more.

Family-friendly day at the camp with all-you-want-to-eat oatmeal pancakes, a local vendors market, s'mores and other activities. Almost Taylor: The Taylor Swift Experience Concert + VIP Bracelet Making — Doors 3 p.m., show 4 p.m., Geneva Stage, genevastage.com. A performance of Swift's music plus a pre-show
VIP experience with bracelet making. General admission tickets $27; and $13 for the VIP experience. Fees will be applied to both.

Gary Con XVIII — March 19-22, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, 7036 Grand Geneva Way, town of Lyons, garycon.com. Fantasy gaming convention honoring Gary Gygax, co-creator of "Dungeons & Dragons." Numerous programs, special guests, exhibits and more are scheduled. See website for tickets and more.
Buggin' Out: The Balloon Adventure — March 19-29, times vary, Pier 290 Boat Showroom, 531fund.org/the-balloon-adventure. Larger-than-life balloon installations create an immersive experience for guests, with proceeds from the event to support Camp Timber-lee. There are special activities during the 10-day event, such as the March 20 Afterglow Rave, The Great Balloon Pub Crawl March 21 and the Blockbuster Adventure March 27.
