A six-figure grant brings the addition plans for Aram Public Library closer to fruition, according to library director Michelle Carter.

“After three years of intensive work in planning and fundraising, we are close to starting construction,” said Aram Library Director Michelle Carter (pictured). The plan is to build a 23,000-square-foot addition to the 12,000-square-foot library.
Menomonee Falls native Nick Ripke, who will attend UW-La Crosse in the fall, shares Sarah Shulze's spirit for adventure. Ripke received Shulze's heart in a transplant following Shulze's death by suicide in the spring of 2022.

Over 110 years old
The site for Aram Public Library — 404 E. Walworth Ave., Delavan — was selected in March 1906. The building dedication was July 8, 1908.

Legacy of books
When Aram Public Library first opened in 1908, it had 2,332 books. Today, it holds much more than books. Compact discs, DVDs and many community programs — including one later this month about Abraham Lincoln — are also at the library.
