Wisconsin men's basketball fans split on Badgers' March Madness draw

  • AFerguson
  • Mar 17, 2024
  • Mar 17, 2024 Updated Mar 21, 2024

The Badgers are back dancing but drew a tough team which led to quick picks against them by analysts, which fans didn't take kindly to.

And who at the end of January? Wild season

End of February no way we thought we’d be a 5.

— john berg (@BadgerJohnBerg) March 17, 2024

Need Rebecca Black to tell me

The science says when they play on my birthday, they lose. Guess what Friday is?

— Carly (@carlyks) March 17, 2024

The classic 5-12 math

Why are we ALWAYS the upset special??

— Terry Heiliger (@terbear421) March 17, 2024

Everybody's got some bark to them

Both Seth Davis and Clark Kellogg have James Madison advancing. A #5 seed was what many expected. I was on the Wisconsin Badger site on Facebook and the fire Gard crowd is back and they haven’t even played the game. Badgers have to prove the doubters are wrong. It’s that simple.

— Jeff Ostach☮️ (@jeff_ostach) March 17, 2024

Sharpie plus beating Duke, eh? Mas tequila por favor

Perfectly fine. If that team from this past weekend shows up, I’ll start sweating the following weekend.

— Más Tequila (@JoRy_MaMa) March 17, 2024

Wisconsin against CBS

We usually play better when we are doubted and of course Clark Kellogg and Seth Davis picked James Madison.

— Brett Page (@bpage7638) March 17, 2024

History lesson

Officially the start of March Madness when the clown known as Seth Davis picks against them in the 1st round.

— Salvador Allende (@1973salvador) March 17, 2024

A spicy second-round possibility

JMU will be a popular upset pick. Whatever. Wisconsin is playing well and should get the W if they play like they have the last few days.

And I love the thought of a possible redemption game against Duke.

Let's do this. #OnWisconsin

— Madtown Alum (@madtownalum) March 17, 2024

Extra day should help after four games in four days

The dreaded 5/12 but we earned some respect with our play this weekend and good we can rest until Friday

— Steve (@Steve39381985) March 17, 2024

Good thing it's not football

Bracket irrelevant, next up James Madison

— Casey Ward (@Badgerbydesign) March 17, 2024

GG EZ?

Jmu is trash. Easy dub

— avi arad 2.0 (@avi_tasm) March 17, 2024

Unlike Sunday

Just defend

— Rob F (@RobFinley27) March 17, 2024

Confidence and aggressiveness are keys

Nothing ever seems to change. JMU a tough matchup but this team will not fear them. Brooklyn was not kind in 2019 but different team now. Take a brea5h and let’s win the weekend.

— mike kerry (@BadgerMike) March 17, 2024

Put 'em on the map, though

Not bad. People are overreacting solely on them beating MSU.

JMU is 1-2 in Q1/2 games, 29-1 in Q3/4.

— PB&C (@PackofCubs) March 17, 2024

Would be a banner season

You need to win 6 games

— Fresh (@ScottKrenz3) March 17, 2024

Early analysis is concerning

They’ll have their hands full. JMU is very athletic and Wisconsin has trouble with athletic teams. The Badgers are playing their best basketball of the season so take it one at a time and see what happens.

— JBayerl (@BayerlJ) March 17, 2024

Unpopular opinion but I like the confidence

Duke. At least they don’t have Ray P. Est on the roster playing for them. Seriously though. Draw is fine. Duke is beatable and first team is a walk. Friday is a break.

— WISkeylover54 (@WISkeylover54) March 17, 2024

Gotta get there first though

Brutal esp considering Brooklyn is ground zero for Duke bandwagoners. Gotta bring our A game

— Robinson Muff-Potter (@thonnius_maker) March 17, 2024

Not-so-bold prediction?

Glad #Badgers found their way back to winning
after injuries and losses. Need Crowl to be aggressive, and Wahl and Hepburn to score. On to #SweetSixteen

— K. Rudolph (@scientwest) March 17, 2024

Final Four ceiling and first-round floor

Nobody is an easy out this time of year. Play like we did this weekend and Wisconsin can get to the second weekend.

— Alex (@ajballer138) March 17, 2024

Preparation likely underway

You get who you get. Go out and win.

— Mitchell Gauger (@MitchellGauger) March 17, 2024

Filipowski tougher to defend than Edey?

https://t.co/IYkCyQesUA

— Gabe Ramos (@GabeRamos27) March 17, 2024

Like that mindset

All good. The first game is tough but IT IS WHAT IT IS 🏀🏀🏀🏋🏽‍♀️🏀🏋🏽‍♀️🏀🏋🏽‍♀️. #Badgers

— Coach Eddie (@EddieAndrist1) March 17, 2024

How do you view the season, if so?

Won’t get out of the 1st weekend. Tough draw
