Phil Hands: Bernie's jets, bus rapid transit, big snowstorms, and a bad costume

Rep. Chris Taylor, D-Madison, a fierce opponent of basing the F-35 jets in Madison, has just returned from a trip to Burlington, Vermont, which was the first community to receive the jets. Rep. Taylor talked about the "chaos" the jets caused in the community, suggesting that everyone opposes these new planes. But progressive hero Bernie Sanders has supported the jets in his home state. 

Madison needs a functional mass transit system, such as bus rapid transit, to move people around town quickly. New technologies like electric vehicles and self-driving cars are out of reach to people most in need of good transportation options. 

Snowstorms this week have turned Wisconsin into a winter wonderland. 

It's Halloween and we know some people will be dressing up as the 45th president of the United States. 

President Donald Trump wouldn't give away toys to the good girls and boys waiting in the most sincere pumpkin patch without some sort of quid pro quo.
