Wilson Farm Meats of Elkhorn is State Fair champion meat processor
Becky Merwin of Linn-based Merwin Farms, and Scott Wilson of Elkhorn-based Wilson Farm Meats, were in attendance at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction at the 2024 Wisconsin State Fair. Wilson Farm Meats won Honorable Mention at the Wisconsin State Fair in the specialty cured meat products division for their “Super Bacon.” Wilson Farm Meats’ award-winning bacon sold for a record-breaking $5,500 to Merwin, a longtime 4-H supporter and advocate. Auction proceeds benefitted the Madison-based Wisconsin 4-H Foundation.

It takes about 200 people to produce more than 300,000 cream puffs each year at the Wisconsin State Fair.
