Beach pass donation to YMCA OK'd by council

program plan to visit Riviera Beach several times through the end
of august.

Several dozen area youths will be able to enjoy Riviera Beach this summer thanks to Lake Geneva officials.
On May 26, the Lake Geneva City Council unanimously approved donating 80 beach passes, valued at about $6,400, to the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA's summer camp program.
The city has been making an annual pass donation since 2020.
Participants and staff members of the summer camp program plan to visit a designated area of Riviera Beach from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 17, July 1, July 15, July 22, Aug.
5, Aug. 12, Aug. 19 and Aug. 26.
In other business, the council:
■ Approved an agent change for Maya Geneva Inc. dba Maya Geneva, 605 Williams St., to Edwin Rodriguez.
■ Approved an agent change for Cove Condominium Association Inc. dba the Cove of Lake Geneva, 111 Center St., to Duncan Mcleod.
■ Approved an alcohol license premises extension filed by Lake City Social.
■ Approved an alcohol license premises change filed by the Cove of Lake Geneva.
■ Approved a public event permit filed by Badger High School for the Badger homecoming parade Oct. 16.
■ Approved a resolution and directing proper city officials to issue alcohol license renewals for the period of July 1 through June 30, 2027.
■ Approved a $77,800 bid from Mared Mechanical to install a new furnace in the Geneva Lake Museum.
■ Approved a $326,319 bid from Wolf Paving Inc. to work on Phase 1 of the Oak Hill Cemetery paving project.
■ Approved the city’s communication policy.

Four area organizations recently received a $2,500 donation as part of VISIT Lake Geneva's Restaurant Week Charity Check program. During Restaurant Week, which was held April 18–26, diners at participating restaurants cast more than 4,000 votes for 20 nominated organizations. The four nonprofits receiving the highest number of votes were Dementia Friendly Community Initiative, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, The Bridge Food & Diaper Bank and Tree House Child and Family Center. The organizations were honored at VISIT Lake Geneva's May 19 partnership meeting held at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa's Mountain Top Chalet.
