Geneva Stage acts includes 'Matilda' musical, 80s pop tributes

Duran Decade will perform the music of one of the biggest groups of the 1980s — Duran Duran.
The national tour for Jump makes a stop at Geneva Stage in downtown Lake Geneva. The act pays tribute to the David Lee Roth era of party rock legends Van Halen.
A film festival, a musical inspired by a beloved children's book and several concerts paying tribute to 1980s pop legends are just part of what's in store this summer at Geneva Stage.
Located at 244 Broad St., Lake Geneva, the Stage recently announced its live events from now through mid-October.
Kicking off the back half of summer at the live entertainment venue is "Matilda the Musical" by the StageCraft Theatre.
According to an email from Geneva Stage, the Roald Dahl classic fuels the musical, which will be brought to life by local performs.
"Matilda" performances are Thursday, July 30, 7 p.m.; Friday, July 31, 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 1, shows 2 and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 2, 2 p.m. Tickets are $25-30.

Huey & the News — Saturday, Aug. 22, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $35.
A Huey Lewis & the News tribute act that, according to the website, "proves the heart of rock and roll is still beating."
The Piano Men: Elton John vs. Billy Joel — Friday, Aug. 28, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $40-45.
Brian Harris pulls double duty, doing both his Simply Billy and Simply Elton acts on stage for one night only.
Petty Kings — Saturday, Aug. 29, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $35.
Now in its tenth year, this Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute act is based in Chicago. The site states they may serve up some Traveling Wilburys or Fleetwood Mac songs, too, among others.

Elvis: A Tribute Show featuring Logan Ramey — Saturday, Sept. 5, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $40-45. Ramey is a multi-award winning performer, according to Geneva Stage.
Duran Duran Tribute — Saturday, Sept. 12, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $30-35. Duran Decade performing.
Jump: America's Van Halen Experience — Thursday, Sept. 17, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $25-30.
A stop on the VH1 Tour brings Van Halen tribute act Jump to Geneva Stage, set to deliver two hours of David Lee Roth-era Halen.
Manhattan Short Film Festival — Thursday, Sept. 24, 6-8:30 p.m., free, no registration required, first-come-first-seated.
The unique festival unites over 100,000 film lovers across the world, with viewings such as this one scheduled in over 500 cities on six continents. Watch films that may end up on an Oscar ballot. Presented by the public libraries in Lake Geneva, Delavan, Williams Bay and Fontana.
That 70s Band: A Tribute to the Disco Era — Friday, Sept. 25, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $25-30.
Hits by Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, KC & the Sunshine Band, the Bee Gees and more are likely to be heard by this disco tribute act.

Take It Easy: A Tribute to the Eagles — Friday, Oct. 9, doors open 6 p.m., starts 7 p.m., tickets $45-55. Take It Easy will also include songs from Eagles solo projects.
