Peter B. Faust

Peter B. Faust, 80, of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Born on March 16, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, Peter was the son of the late Emil and Mary Ann (née Bernstein) Faust. Throughout his life, Peter was known for his strength, kindness, and love for his family.
Peter attended Highland Park High School and Lake Forest College before serving in the United States Army. He carried the discipline and determination he developed during those years throughout his life.
Peter joined his family’s business, Burwood Industries, where he served as executive vice president. Burwood was a leading manufacturer of clocks and wall decor. Following the sale of Burwood, Peter and his future wife, Gwen, founded Genesis Marketing, Inc., a home furnishings sales and marketing company. Together they built a successful business, where Peter remained actively involved until his retirement.
On May 12, 2001, Peter married the love of his life, Gwen (née Kestel), in Chicago, Illinois. Together they built a life centered on love, companionship, shared adventures, and family.
Peter was a devoted husband, proud father, and loving grandfather. He will be remembered for his caring heart, steady presence, generous spirit, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.
Peter believed in giving back to his community and generously shared his time and leadership with numerous organizations. He served for 25 years on a Geneva Lake condominium board, including five years as president. He was also vice president and parliamentarian of the Lake Geneva Chapter of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and served on the Chapter’s Executive Board.
A gifted musician, Peter was an accomplished pianist who played both professionally and for his own enjoyment. He also composed music and had a deep appreciation for the arts.
He was an avid sports fan and loved to travel. Whether entertaining friends, attending the theater, enjoying great music, or exploring new cultures, Peter approached life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Gwen Faust (née Kestel); his adored sons, Derek (Marcie) Faust and Jeremy (Danelle) Faust; his cherished grandchildren, Valerie, Abigail, Jonathan, Alexander, and Julia; his sisters, Davea Faust and Margaret (Harley) Gordon; his brother-in-law, Rod (the late Kate) Kestel; along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home, 515 Center Street, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
A second visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 148 W. Main Street, Lake Geneva, WI 53147, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, 6495 WI-50, Lake Geneva, WI 53147.
Please join the family for a luncheon after the conclusion of the burial at Big Foot Country Club, 770 Shabbona Dr, Fontana-On-Geneva Lake, WI 53125.
