In the time after the Covid-19 pandemic, the word "quarantine" seems to carry more weight.
"A Delightful Quarantine," the latest play by Elkhorn community theater group the Lakeland Players, aims to delight audiences with a comedy about a suburban, middle-class Pennsylvania neighborhood quarantined for three days after an extraterrestrial visitation.
Lakeland Players are performing "Quarantine" Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28, at 7 p.m.; and Sundays, Feb. 22 and March 1, at 2 p.m.
Performances are at Sprague Theater, 15 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn.
Written in 2007 by Mark Dunn, the play weaves together seven stories involving love, adoption, secrets, a foiled burglary, a person with 14 invisible pet cats and more.
The "Quarantine" cast list includes Kelly Romel, Ruth Tozer, Julie Logue, Elise Grimm, Kylara Horner, Ryan Cunningham, Emma Kohl, John Dwyer, Kristy Kriegl, Adam Himebauch, Lilith Smith, Aaron Gomez, Judy Atkinson, Vivian Moller and Liz Atkinson.
