weekend at Grand Geneva resort & spa.

Friday, Jan. 16
Hot Dog Open — 3-10 p.m., Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, 7036 Grand Geneva Way, town of Lyons, grandgeneva.com. The first of three days in which the resort plans to unleash "high energy" skiing and snowboarding in a custom-built terrain park.Competitors will face off in slopestyle, rail jam and big air events. In each category, there will be cash prizes, such as $250 for top finishers. Athletes register from 3-6 p.m., with a meeting from 6-7 p.m. The welcome party is 7-10 p.m. at the Chalet. More online.

Hot Dog Open — 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Finals practice 9-10 a.m., Slopestyle finals 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Rail Jam practice 5-6 p.m., finals 7-8:30 p.m. Closing ceremony, awards and after party 8:3010 p.m.
