The Big Foot/Williams Bay soccer co-op opened their home season against Wilmot Union High School with a big 10-0 win for the Chief-Dogs on Monday, April 6.
BF/WB Senior Sophia Stewart led her team in scoring with three goals and senior Mya Gonzalez scored two goals to make up half of the goals scored.
Fellow senior Haylie Wanat, juniors Kaylie Patterson and Janet Castaneda, sophomore Zuleimy Martinez, and freshman Amalya Gonzalez also each had one goal in the game.
Head Coach Rene Perez said that the game was a good start to the season, with some injuries and loss of seniors from last season on the defensive side of the ball, they are putting some pieces together but overall proud of the win.
"We're missing a few on our attack, but everybody kind of stepped up today," Coach Perez said. "I think every goal was kind of off an assist or a nice shot from the 18."
On the defensive side, junior Lucia Martinez and senior Gracie Price led the team of defenders with their communication.
"I thought defensively, we just controlled the whole game and everything else," Coach Perez said. "I thought everyone did a really good job."
