Big fun
The 175th Walworth County Fair — Wednesday-Sunday, Aug. 28-Sept. 1, 7 a.m.-11 p.m.; and Monday, Sept. 2, 7 a.m.-8 p.m., Walworth County Fairgrounds, 411 E. Court St., Elkhorn. There’s something for everyone at the fair, which transpires across the 99-acre fairgrounds site. Activities include horse shows, a rodeo, a carnival, the demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, agriculture exhibits, children’s entertainment and a slew of live music performances. Labor Day Weekend at Lake Lawn Resort — Friday-Sunday, Aug. 30-Sept. 1, Lake Lawn Resort, 2400 E. Geneva St., Delavan. On Friday, Aug. 30, the Glow Pool Party at the Lookout Pool is from 7-9 p.m. DJ karaoke 10 p.m.-1 a.m. On Saturday, Aug. 31, Family Glow Bingo in the Great Room is from 7-9 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 1, the Pig Roast and Lawn Party at the Great Room Lakefront Lawn is 4-7 p.m. Cash bar, with an inflatable bounce house, ladder ball, bags, giant Jenga, frisbee golf and face painting for kids. Kisses From Keegan & Friends Ninth Annual Golf Outing — Thursday, Sept. 5, noon lunch, 1 p.m. shotgun, Hawk’s View Golf Course, 7377 Krueger Road, Lake Geneva. Entry fee includes 18 holes of championship golf at Como Crossing, cart equipped with GPS, lunch before registration and buffet-style dinner after golf, and a player gift from Kisses From Keegan & Friends. Swift Night Out — Sept. 5, starts 5 p.m., Geneva Lake Museum, 255 Mill St., Lake Geneva. Enjoy the spectacle of thousands of acrobatic Chimney Swifts as they circle and swoop the tall chimney of the museum during their fall migration to South America. Food trucks begins selling food at 5 p.m. The indoor program “Eagle & Friends” starts at 6 p.m. Watch the Swifts at 7:15 p.m.
Maple Park Neighborhood Walking Tour — Saturday, Sept. 7, 1-3:15 p.m., with tours running every 15 minutes starting at Lake Geneva Public Library, 918 W. Main St., Lake Geneva. Showcasing the Veterans Memorial and Poppy Sculpture in Elm Park, the history of the Ice House Pier, architectural gems along Maxwell Street and other delights within the Historic Maple Park District.
