Wednesday, Dec. 10
Gingerbread House Walk & Competition — 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Brissago Foyer at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, 7036 Grand Geneva Way, town of Lyons, grandgeneva.com. Locals vie for awards with their gingerbread house entries into the competition, which are on display daily through Dec. 31. Go to website for more.
Santa Cruises — Cruises at 4:20 & 5:20 p.m., Gage Lake Geneva Cruise Line’s Winter Harbor, 1 Liechty Drive, Williams Bay, cruiselakegeneva.com/public-tours/santa-cruise. Families can take their children on a heated Geneva Lake boat ride to see Santa Claus from the shore of his lakeside hideaway. St. Nick will read off the names of children who made the Nice List this year. Plus a Christmas Tree Festival prior to the cruise and a raffle to support 531 Fund local charities. Friday, Dec. 12
Parade of Trees — 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Geneva Lake Museum, 255 Mill St., Lake Geneva, genevalakemuseum.org. Museum guests can tour the numerous trees that were decorated by local organizations, then vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a People’s Choice Award. People can visit the tree display during regular museum hours Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The World’s Tallest Glass Tree — 4-7 p.m., Yerkes Observatory, 373 W. Geneva St., Williams Bay, worldstallestglasstree.com. Watch live glass blowing, steel sculpting and woodworking as the World’s Tallest Glass Tree is created. Guests can also tour Yerkes. Event is also Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 & 14, noon-7 p.m. Dec. 14 is the final day of the event, with a special star-topping event at 4 p.m. Tickets: Free ages 12 and younger, $20 ages 13 and older, $30 for multi-day pass, $150 for VIP parking pass, four admission tickets and more.
