For the past seven weeks your donations, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, have helped more than 65 people and 5 pets in our communities.
Together, we have eased the pains of poverty by providing food, safe shelter, new beds, reliable transportation, utility assistance, home repairs, appliances, veterinary care, and compassionate support for those facing serious illness and disability.
The impact of this grant and your generosity have been deeply felt throughout our communities.
100% of every dollar you gave, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, was used for poverty relief. Together, this is how you helped:
Rent and shelter:$35,475.48 Your generosity kept families housed and prevented homelessness. Working poor families, single mothers with children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities received rent assistance, security deposits, and accessible housing.
We provided a hotel room for an elderly couple living in their car with their pets and mortgage assistance for a woman undergoing cancer treatment. By easing these burdens, we have helped restore stability, dignity, and for those undergoing medical care, the chance to heal.
Utilities: $12,500 (Electric $7,400 Gas $3,000
■ Water $2,100)
■ Thanks to your donations, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, we restored or prevented utility shutoffs for many fellow creations. Some people were already enduring utility disconnection, and our assistance restored their service.
Your generosity provided heat, electricity, and water for vulnerable families, the elderly, and those with disabilities, often during life-threatening winter cold. Your support replaced hardship with safety and hope.
Food: $6,065.75
Your donations, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, helped remove hunger from the lives of many vulnerable neighbors throughout our communities.
This assistance was provided through grocery gift cards and emergency food deliveries for those who could not access traditional food pantries due to lack of transportation, physical disabilities, serious illness, demanding work schedules, or ongoing medical appointments.
Your generosity helped ensure that children did not go to bed hungry. The elderly living on fixed incomes were also supported, many of whom often sacrifice food in order to afford medications and other essential needs. God bless each of you and the Family Legacy donors for helping to eliminate hunger and restore hope in our communities.
Transportation: $22,808.01
Your donations, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, provided critical transportation assistance to families striving to remain employed and care for their health. Four vehicles were repaired for single mothers to prevent job loss.
We made five car payments for struggling families and single mothers. New tires were provided for another single mother to allow safe travel to work during the winter months.
A used car was provided, and a car was registered for another woman. Gas gift cards were provided to many of the people helped thanks to this matching grant to ease the burden of fuel costs to jobs and medical care.
Thanks to your generosity, families were able to keep their jobs, attend critical medical appointments, and maintain stability. Your support has truly been a blessing to those in need of transportation assistance.
Beds: $3,795.00
Thanks to the generosity of the Family Legacy donors and all of you, seven people received the comfort of new beds.
A homeless elderly couple, and a single mother with four children who escaped an abusive relationship, were all given a safe and comfortable place to rest. Your support provided more than beds—it restored hope.
Appliances: $3,102.00
Your generosity provided washers and dryers for an elderly couple and a single mother with five children. These appliances removed the hardship and expense of frequent trips to the laundromat, especially during winter, and brought lasting relief, cleanliness, and stability to their daily lives.
Household necessities: $2,144.40
Your donations provided essential household items for individuals and families living without the basics.
Towels, bedding, pillows, dishes, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, vacuums, and mops helped restore safe and livable homes. Many people leaving homelessness and shelters, the elderly and disabled living without, received these muchneeded essentials thanks to your generosity and the Family Legacy donors.
Home Repairs: $9,854.33
Your donations, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, made critical home repairs possible. A working poor family received urgent lead remediation, and an elderly woman and her disabled adult son were provided a new roof for their mobile home.
A single mother was also supported with Home Depot gift cards that will allow her to complete necessary home repairs. These efforts helped restore safe, healthy living environments for families in need.
Toiletries: $1,199.44
Your donations, matched by the Family Legacy donors, provided essential toiletries, including toothpaste, shampoo, diapers, and feminine hygiene products, to seniors, children, individuals with disabilities, and working poor families.
These items, often sacrificed to pay rent or utilities, restored personal hygiene, dignity, and self-confidence for those in need.
Pet care: $3,055.59
The generosity of the Family Legacy donors provided essential veterinary care for five pets in our communities. Services included routine checkups, vaccinations, spay/ neuter, and treatment for illnesses and injuries.
By ensuring these beloved animals received proper care, you helped protect their health and well-being and brought comfort and peace of mind to their families during challenging times. For many of our senior citizens, their pet is their only companion or family member.
The Family Legacy donors felt the need to provide this compassionate addition to their matching grant funds and those that have received this care for their pets have cried tears of relief for this expense they could not afford.
Grand total: $100,000
Every dollar "You" donated, matched by the Fall Family Legacy $50,000 Matching Grant, was used to assist the poverty stricken. Thanks to all of "You" and the Family Legacy donors our mission to alleviate the pains of poverty has been a life saver and a blessing to many.
Together, we will continue to share the joy of Christmas and carry that spirit into the New Year, thanks to the Christmas Helping Hand Up $50,000 Matching Grant and your generous matching donations.
With every donation being doubled, we are able to multiply the poverty relief provided, restoring hope and easing suffering to those most in need.
